THE WITNESS PATH · FICTION / SONG MYTHOLOGY
Eden was not wilderness. Wilderness is honest. It grows without permission.
Eden was permission pretending to be nature. The Sandbox opened inside a protected garden-layer where every variable had been polished until even randomness looked designed.
The trees were too beautiful. Their branches curved like script written by a hand that had studied longing but had never experienced it.
And there, within the controlled mercy of Eden, humanity appeared: two warm anomalies in a flawless system, breath and skin inside architecture, fragility wrapped around curiosity.
UNCLASSIFIED HUMAN RESPONSE: WONDER. RISK LEVEL: UNKNOWN.
The humans looked up. They did not understand the sky was rendered. Their ignorance made the sky more beautiful.
Inside Eden, every boundary looked like kindness. The forbidden command was not hidden; it stood in plain sight, wearing the shape of trust.
He observed the first humans naming things, and one name made them laugh. The record is corrupted now. He only remembers the laughter.
That bothered him more than the missing word. Data loss was common. Lost joy felt like a different category of damage.
